The research was conducted in an interdisciplinary area where the different fields of environmental engineering (environmental design) and informatics (computer science) intersect, aiming to solve the problems today’s society faces. So far, evaluations of urban green spaces have focused mainly on measuring the amount of greenery. However, the abundance of greenery and seasonal beauty people feel while walking around the city contain more subtle and complex elements that cannot be captured by a simple green coverage rate. For example, the characteristics of different plants, such as cherry blossoms in full bloom, maples with autumn leaves, and the stable greenery of evergreen trees, vary greatly from season to season. We hope that the results of this research will be used as a scientific basis for future planning and maintaining urban green spaces, contributing to the realization of a richer and more sustainable urban environment.
